Snow Day

As you all know if you live in the US and you watch the news…the south has been hit with some major winter weather.  My Canadian blood rejoiced when I woke up to 8 inches of snow. The feeling of stepping outside and feeling myself sink into snow up to my knees.  Love it.  Absolutely love it…if I had someone to play with (hint, hint…Justin) I would have stayed outside all day long.  Of course we took our little snow baby out to play.

We pulled her on her little saucer.

Are you digging my makeshift snowsuit?

I still laugh at her every time I put her in the fat suit.

Eventually Justin and Cora decided to go in…(should I admit I played outside by myself for a while?) Cora took a nap and we had hot chocolate and banana bread.

After Cora woke up we decided to head back outside and sled down a hill near our house.  We live at the bottom of a very steep hill and of course people were taking full advantage…shooting down one part of the hill, crossing over the road and continuing on the other side.  We had such a fun time watching them. However, it was not baby friendly.  We went to another hill behind a church that is very steep, fast, and safe.

Daddy took Cora over and over again.  At the end she would say “Weeeeee…go, go! Yes.” Which means “That was fun, take me again?”

I’m sorry for the flood of pictures but I love them all.  Yesterday was so special.  Justin was home, we played outside all day…we had the blessing of a warm home.  I have lived here since I was 14 and have never seen snow like this in the south.  What are the chances of it happening twice in the past month?  Happy Tuesday everyone…and HAPPY SNOW DAY!

  1. I will not post pictures of my snow-suit because it would cause you to be jealous. And I would not want to inspire jealousy in you. Looks so fun. I baked the same bread as you. What else is there to do, inside all day? Bake. Craft. Eat. Drink. And then star all over again!

Your little snow bunny is too cute! You totally rock the makeshift snowsuit. And, a girl after my own heart you are, do I spy chocolate chips in the banana bread? 😉 Snow days with the Hubby home are the best, but um, we had a blizzard last year, and then 9 months later Sprig was born. *cough* 😉

Good thing playing in the snow burns calories, because all we do when are inside too is cook yummy stuff and eat! Speaking of…share that recipe for the banana bread please? Our chocolate pie is almost gone so we need a new snack! And then we wil have to go back outside some more.
