What 9 Weeks Means to Me

Right now I am feeling very first trimestesterish…thus my absence this week.  My stomach is rarely not queazy.  When I do have those good moments I take advantage of them and try to accomplish all that has fallen behind.  I’m 9 weeks and definitely showing…(especially after eating a rather substantial dinner)

Yes a very small bump…but bump nonetheless!

I have found that what I eat makes a huge difference to how I feel.  Protein is my source of feeling good…carbs, sugar are my source of feeling terrible.  My sister-in-law is due 4 weeks ahead of me and so we get to talk pregnancy together.  She said something funny a couple weeks ago…”I live for the next meal.” And that’s me…all I think about is food because I am so hungry. Oatmeal is my breakfast of choice (same as when I was pregnant with Cora)

Sandwiches are my lunch addiction…with bean sprouts.  Right now I LOVE bean sprouts.

And fruit…did I mention I love fruit?  I eat piles of it.  And my greatest food love would be Chick-Fil-A chargrilled sandwiches.

My love for coffee has not subsided as it did with Cora.  We recently ordered a Frieling french press and we love it.

Now we just need to perfect the art of making french press coffee.

We have made a lot of progress in the kitchen…unfortunately Justin has had to do the past couple weeks worth of work as I just haven’t had the energy.  Here’s a little glimpse…

We still need to order hardwood flooring but are waiting til we find the best deal…our floor is looking like a bit of an eye sore as we used it as a drop cloth and it really does not match the kitchen.  But when you make a change/improvement there is always something that really sticks and and just looks wrong…

Cora continues to keep my busy because she is so busy.  Always up to some mischief…like emptying drawers, recipe boxes, shelves…

She decided to dig through my purse the other day and found a hair conditioning sample.  I heard “bleh, bleh! Yucky!” I walked in to the room to find her snacking on the packet…licking up the conditioner.  Of course I panicked but was thankful it was from and organic store…all natural ingredients and bio-degradable.  It was about an hour before she stopped wiping at her tongue saying”Yuck!” On a more frightening note…yesterday morning I heard a slurp, slurp noise and found her happily sucking up her tylenol.  I still don’t know where she found it or how she opened it…all I do know is I panicked, looked online and was so relieved to read that she would have to eat almost the entire bottle to do any harm…there was not even a quarter of the bottle left and of that quarter she had eaten just a little bit.  But still it scared me.  Needless to say all tylenol bottles, conditioner, cleaners are put far from her reach.

Other than a growing baby bump, an insatiable appetite, a pretty kitchen…a toddler with a death wish…not much else to report around here.  ’Til next time!

So excited to see your bump! And I understand the fruit and protein crave. I could eat an entire watermelon by myself with Levi. Yum. Maybe your having a boy ;) Good luck with Cora and her death wish, and I can’t wait to try some of your french press coffee, so fancy! I was thinking of you this morning on the way to work, I will call you tomorrow.

I understand the Tylenol scare, eek! So glad she’s okay, especially with the extra lotion incident…she’s keeping momma on her toes. :) I craved protein with my son, and bread with my daughter. And pineapple with them both! Hope you feel less nauseous soon.

What a cute little baby bump!! I don’t think I really had any cravings with Micaiah, I just felt sicker than a dog from heartburn 24/7 and hated food from 6 weeks onward. I hope I remember that protein is the key to feeling better next time around!

Your house is soooo beautiful! Love your style!

You look GREAT! I hope you will really enjoy every part of growing that bump and won’t stress too much about getting bigger! It looks very cute and you sure lost all your weight easily with Cora so I’m sure it’ll be the same this time around too!:)

Well, Cora is sure curious! I love it that she slurped down all the Tylenol! That’s hilarious! Funny girl!!!:)

You look great! And I know just what you mean about food! I think I’ve always loved food, but it has been when I’m pregnant (or nursing) that I LOVE LOVE it. You know? Every taste, every morsel, every flavor combination…it all had to be tried, tested, and finished. :)
