Life Around Here..the post that took 4 days to write

***I’ve had this post in the works since Monday…we’ve been a little busy around here. ***

We’ve been having some rainy days around here.  The kind of days where you feel justified being stuck indoors.

I wish I could say that Cora and I have been able to be stuck indoors but we’ve actually been really busy.  Grocery shopping, running errands, doctors appointments (That get cancelled upon arrival after waking up Cora who had a 20 minute nap).  When we have been home I’ve been burning candles and playing music.  There is something about fall that makes me want to have a very soothing and warm home.

And when I say fall I think babies.  Of course.  All that fall has meant to me for 9 months is Elinor…and this guy.

Isn’t he just adorable?  I have not taken one picture of him.  Not one.  Thankfully my sister-in-law posted this picture to her facebook today and I was able to “borrow” it.  We are thankful that despite a hard but fast labor they are both home healthy.  I know I’ve mentioned it before but I just love babies and seeing this little one makes me even more excited to meet Elinor.  But  I have promised myself I will enjoy these last weeks with Justin and Cora…because soon our lives are going to be turned upside down.

Cora has started to talk about baby sister.  Baby sister is anything from gift bags from showers, to the swing at Nan’s house, sometimes my tummy, or Sunday it was her new baby cousin.  She’s obviously just not grasping what a baby sister really is and that’s fine.  She’ll know soon enough.

She keeps on doing her thing…reading her books and playing with her toys.

And other than being one of the strongest willed little people on the planet…I am finding her pretty easy these days.

Our house is looking pretty interesting. When I look out the doors from our kitchen I see this…

It’s amazing how fast these men are framing the new addition….soon we’ll have a small hallway from our kitchen, leading to the master bedroom.  I am starting to get really excited…

In the midst of chaos I am trying to get the house ready for fall and more importantly, baby.  I bought a few white pumpkins and gourds at Walmart the other day.

I also bought some flowers at Kroger.

And that’ll probably be it for our fall decor.

In case you were wondering how I am looking at 35 weeks I thought I would give you a glimpse…I stumbled upon this picture on facebook the other day…35 weeks with Cora.

And here I am 35 weeks with Elinor.  Same fat face (although hidden in second picture…) but I think my tummy is bigger…actually, huge and I’m already so low…

Considering this post took me 4 days to write it amazes me how little I actually wrote.  And I gotta run.  The spaghetti sauce is simmering, the noodles are cooking and the bread needs to go in the oven.  Hopefully next week will be a little less hectic!

Cora looks so adorable planted on the bench. I love your fall touches. I need to add some around here. The addition is so exciting! Hope you have a relaxing weekend girlie. You look beautiful with both girls!

You do look a lot lower with Elinor, maybe that mean she’ll come a little early 🙂 Can’t wait to see more pictures of the addition!

Your home looks lovely for the Fall season. I hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, and time with your husband and little girl! I remember being so excited to finally meet our twins (and not be pregnant anymore :)), but also trying to treasure those intimate moments with just the three of us.

Oh Goodness! For a moment I thought you had had your baby, and discovered it was a boy! That would have been a shocker. Congrats on your new nephew.

I am with you on the need to have a warm and soothing environment when the fall weather starts to hit! I immediately want to make comfort food and light candles and bake 🙂 The weather here in Ontario has turned cold suddenly, so I’m enjoying it.

How exciting to be not so far away from baby 2’s arrival!
