Counting down the Hours

Tonight it all begins.  We go in at 10pm to start the process of inducing Elinor.  Might I just add I am nervous.  Really nervous.  I don’t know why…after all, I’ve done this before.  I don’t know if I’m more nervous about giving birth or leaving Cora.  I never worry about leaving Cora (well, not to any great extent) but I am so scared to be gone from her.  I think it’s just a combo of emotions, hormones…and the fact that I am about to bring a new life into the world.  I’ve been praying a lot.  That God would protect Elinor and protect me during this process.  It’s amazing how vulnerable I feel right now.  But I know once everything gets going I’ll be running off pure adrenaline and excitement and my nerves will fade away into “Let’s get this baby OUT!” mode.

The past two days have been good.  Halloween looked like it was going to be a bust due to some drama on Cora’s end but it ended up being such a fun evening.  Our ladybug was all about going door-to-door and yelling “trick-or-treat!”  Then she would grab as much candy as possible.

We also talked about the moon a lot.  ”You see the moon????“ We knocked on one door and a sweet lady answered.  Cora decided to run inside her house and then ran right back outside, “Ohhhh…scary!!!!!” I asked Justin, “What do you think was scary in her house?  The witch candy bowl?”  Justin’s response “The smell.”

Today we’re going to go for a walk, play at the park…and try to enjoy the rest of the day.  We’ll be dropping Cora off at Mimi and Beba’s house around 6:00-6:30, get her settled in…and try to pass the rest of our time ’til we check in at the hospital.

God willing we’ll be a family of four tomorrow…cannot wait to meet our littlest girl!  Pray for us…it’ll be a long next couple days!

Next post should have some sweet pictures of a fresh and beautiful newborn face…:)  Happy Wednesday All!

  11. EXCITING!! Praying for peace as you wait for her arrival! I can remember those similar thoughts and feelings when I was about to give birth to my second daughter. I can remember thinking how can I love another baby as much as Saige? But, of course, you know and I knew that your heart expands. Blessings to you!
