Napping in a Closet and Other Randoms

Yesterday afternoon I tucked both girls into bed and decided I needed to take a nap as well.  A very rare thing for me to do but something I have had to do twice this week.  It is strange how sleepless nights can suddenly catch up with me and I cannot get enough sleep.

Around 3 I heard the baby crying through the monitor.  I got her out of bed and decided I better wake up Cora.  She doesn’t sleep well at night if she sleeps beyond 3 in the afternoon.  I went into her silent room.  The bed was empty…rumpled sheets and the bed cover flipped back but no Cora.  I almost panicked.  Then I looked at her closet to see little legs poking out.

She had fallen asleep on the floor of her closet while dismantling the closet (a new favorite activity and something she gets in trouble for every time).  After my initial worry I could not stop giggling and of course, had to snap a couple of pictures.  When she woke up she kept saying “Owwww mom!  I hurt!

I am thankful to report Cora loves to color again.  She used to spend tons of time coloring and then lost interest.  I bought her a new Dora coloring book from the Dollar Tree and that’s all she wants to do.

This little one had her big shining moment a few days ago.  I walked into her room to find her standing in her crib.  Isn’t it strange how those little milestones make you so proud as a parent?  I don’t know who was more excited, me or her.  She was grinning and bumping her little bottom up and down.

She is such a sweet baby.  A lot busier than her sister was at this age…guess she’s got a lot of motivation to keep up.  Whatever her reasons, she never quits moving.

She’s starting to develop a mean little temper.  When she doesn’t get her way she lets out the most ear piercing shrieks and still, I somehow find her just the cutest little thing.  She always gets her way.  I am a sucker for babies…

I fell in love with a little table.  You might ask, how do you fall in love with a table?

First of all, it has to be dirt cheap…as in $30.

Second, it has to have sturdy legs…ones that don’t wobble and shake. (those of you who shop on at 2nd hand shops know what I’m talking about).  Since Elinor is pulling up on furniture I need to know that it can hold her weight.  This table is also perfect for storing stuff. Since having busy babies there is no point putting many decorative items on a table so baskets with magazines make sense. I don’t need to worry about them being damaged when they are knocked off the table.

I also wanted to share a website that I love.  My sister-in-law has me hooked. (although I have not bought anything yet)  It’s called  They have various Etsy sellers who are featured as the daily deal.  They sell such adorable things like hair bows, ruffle butt diaper covers, jewelry…if you haven’t already subscribed to their daily deals, I would check them out!

Anyhow, time for me to sign off.  We have a busy day ahead of us.  Happy Friday!

hilarious about Cora in the closet. We have recently discovered coloring and painting and I love the silence it creates, so glad Cora loves to color again. Elinor is so cute and yay! on standing up in her crib and moving so much, I can’t wait to see C & E running all over the place together!
